The Kimblewick bit is like a jumping curb bit. The difference is the milder effect and that it is ridden with only one rein. Here, the rider can decide for himself how sharp he wants the bit to be. As a principle, the further down the reins are attached, the stronger the leverage and the sharper the bit. In addition, the special side piece gives the rider more control over the horse than with a standard side piece. The mouthpiece is made of elastic plastic, which is slightly flexible (medium) or barely flexible (hard), depending on the type. The material used is FDA approved and therefore non-toxic. In addition, it does not contain any plasticizers. The recess leaves space for the tongue, taking pressure off the center of the tongue.

The Inno Sense Port Medium is made of elastic plastic, harder than the Flexi Soft. The Inno Sense Port Medium is slightly flexible. This mouthpiece has a tongue arch which provides less pressure on the centre of the horse’s tongue.
